Raising our chicks
Once again, thanks to Mrs Laydon, we had chicks in class 1 this spring time. Mrs Laydon let us borrow her incubator as well as providing the eggs to incubate. We had to wait 21 sleeps before our first chick hatched. We loved watching and looking after them but best of all we loved cuddling them. It was a very sad day when we had to say good bye to them. They now live in Mrs Laydon's garden shed - when they are bigger they will move to the garden itself before living at the family allotment. Thank you once again Mrs Laydon we loved having the chicks in our class.
The Busy Bees were learning about symmetry. To show their understanding they made some super Human Symmetry pictures. Well done to all of you.
Sunday 2nd July Football festival at Tarn Close Playing Fields, Cockermouth
We were invited to take part in this festival which was organised and promoted by Cockermouth Town Junior Football Club. Mr Allport (Finn and Abe's dad) kindly agreed to manage a group of our keenest players. We had a lovely afternoon and played our hearts out - making our parents, grandparents and Mrs Taylor very proud.
An afternoon at Brigham Park
While our new Reception children were settling in and only attending for half a day, we took the chance to treat our year one children to an afternoon at the village park.
Pudsey Day (Children in Need November 2016)
We raised money for this worthwhile charity by paying £1 to come to school in our pyjamas and bring our favourite cuddly toy too. We had a great day - listening to Teddy Bear stories as well as making huge spotty biscuits. We decorated our own spots to be added to Pudsey and Blush. We then had to estimate how many spots were on those famous bears (very tricky).
