In geography Class 2 have been investigating settlements and studying maps of different settlements. We learnt to identify physical and human features. After a walk from school we returned to school to draw a map
of our walk showing these features. Some children studied symbols on maps and used some of these on their own maps.
As part of our science and geography topic on weather and climate we have been investigating wind direction and speed. The children have made some fabulous windsocks to help them with their investigations.
Class 2’s Geography and Science topics on Life in Kenya and Wild and Wonderful Creatures of Kenya was enhanced further by a fabulous talk from Peter. Peter has lived and worked in Kenya for many years. He shared his fabulous collection of photos and videos of wildlife around his home in Kenya and life in the local villages along with scientific facts about the animals he has photographed. The children were fascinated and have gained so much knowledge from this experience.
Through a combined science and geography topic we are finding out all about Kenya; the animals that live there, climate, habitats and comparing life in England with life in Kenya.
